I seriously can't figure this out. I downloaded a couple mods off this site and I don't know where in the installation folder to put them. Do I need another program?

There are three ways to install mods.

1> If you downloaded it through the Mod Browser in-game, all you need to do is click the "Install Mods" button and it'll do it all automatically.

2> If you downloaded a .proj file here, you should be able to just double-click on the file and it'll install in the correct place.

3> If you downloaded a .zip file containing all the huge amounts of XML, etc. already laid out (like, say, my own mod), then you need to find your User working directory. In Windows 7, this'll be in your My Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization V/ directory; in XP it'll be in a similar location within your Documents & Settings tree. You'll know you're in the right place if you see a config.ini file, User Settings.ini, and so on.

Inside that directory will be a subdirectory labeled MODS. Yes, it'll be capitalized like that. Other directories next to it, like Maps and Logs, are useful for certain things, but for now let's stick with mods.

Within that MODS directory, there should be one directory per installed mod. (It's okay if mod files are buried a couple levels deep, as long as they're inside this directory somewhere.) So just unpack the zip file into this area. The next time you start up the game, the mod will be ready to use.

That's all you need to do.
