Intro movie is garbled; no leonard Nemoy

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, as far as actually being able to play the game and all, but there are a couple of things I'm having problems with too:

1) Whenever I start up the game, the introductory bink videos are garbled/corrupted. I can hear the sounds alright, and after that the game looks fine and runs smoothly.

2) I've already posted a hotseat issue where I can't trade with another human player after discovering alphabet, and despite being able to trade with AI civs, in the bug reports forum.

3) I don't hear any narration by Leonard Nemoy


My system:

Windows XP Pro x64 edition
AMD Athlon 3000+ (@2250 MHz)
1 GB PC3200 DDR RAM
eVGA 7800GT PCI-e using ForceWare 81.85 drivers
Onboard sound using NVIDIA nForce 6.66 drivers

I'm suffering the same problems(and then some) with a similar system.

Okay, I tried that pak fix going around for the ATI issue, and at least now I can view the intro video
