is it me or did Oracle became bit harder to build

I don't know about you but before the patch Oracle used to be one of those great wonders that AI somehow wasn't interested to build. But now It would seem that AI has finally realised it's power and are quickly building it.

I haven't encountered this but one theory can be that since AI now prioritize civics that give government a bit more (from patch notes: "Increased desire for civics that unlock new governments."), they unlock Mysticism a bit earlier (does the former statement imply this for AI? I don't know. But if you don't want Divine Right which unlocks Monarchy you can go without Mysticism forever), and the placement rule for Oracle is not that hard so some wonder-oriented AI just build it.

Some people may want to check out AI_GovtPolicies.csv and let us know what happens...

There might be some marginal increase in Oracle interest, because the AI seems to like City Projects a lot now, which result in more Great People Points. It's unclear to me whether the AI's main objective is the People or just getting more Science/Culture/whatever, but if it's the former, they might go after the Oracle more often.

I'm having the same feeling too.

At first I though it was only because Brazil was on the game, but after 3 other games loosing the Oracle I'm starting to think something changed ...

Are you playing tech shuffle mode? I've been playing that mode almost exclusively (often combined with SS) and I've found that the Oracle goes very early. The last game I played, it was built by T30.

yes. and Mysticism civ is almost always placed quite early.

Probably depends a lot on if any AI has the wonder building agenda? In my current game (Deity) it’s t120 and I forgot about Oracle until I spotted an AI almost done building it. I parked a Musket in the tile to stop them since I can build it myself in 9 turns.
