Is it possible to set game to windowed mode in files?

Can someone please help if/how it is possible to set configuration of the game in game files to always run in a windowed mode?

In short, if I try to run the game on my laptop in a full screen mode, the selection screen gets scrambled and I am unable to do anything.

It used to be possible to set the game to run in Windowed mode in the Aspyr's launch screen - but now it is not possible as there is an error message there and the option to choose the mode never appears.

I don't know if it's any different on Mac

but going into Mac's Documents Folder/Civilization 6/AppOptions.txt has manual text file for majority of settings.

Find the FullScreen variable/setting and change it, it's subtitled/captioned so you can see what you need to set it to.
