Command economies, dictatorship of the proles, secret police, collective farms, heavy industry, is there any game out there where I can implement these sort of controls?

Risk. It does require a bit of imagination though. ;)

Just really really want communist environment or orientated game.

What ever happened to that game 'Republic'? 'Twas set in a post-Soviet breakup country of Nova-something...did it ever come out?

That's not communist economy, my friend McCarthy. Maybe you need to read Marx to know before to talk.
If you want to talk about the "real socialism", the "stalinism", well, this is another thing.

Don't let semantics and word games get in the way of the facts.

'Republic' has had its name changed (I think) and is scheduled to come out later this fall (I think). But that is only about gaining power. What you do once you win isn't part of it.

TROPICO! It's an amazing game, and while it does not incorporate all that you ask for, it's pretty damn close(especially with the expansion, Paradise Island).

If you find it, buy it. I know you'll love it.

Sounds a bit like "Tropico".

However, is there any game where you can have anything else but a factual dictatorship? Otherwise you would lose alot of control over the gamplay, right?

Tropico is basically about being a dictator and having control over how the economy is formed, though it isn't really a command economy. Whether you are a dictator or a president is really the defining aspect of it .

Hidden Agenda, a simulation of politics in a fictional south American country. There you could implement Marxist economic policy to your heart's content. Well, until a right wing coup occurred, anyway. Look here

Screw promises, just get the game from www.the-underdogs.org

(the game is no longer published, or availible.)

I second Tropico. Very fun and fairly original game (considering all of its type are clones of simcity, it has some new and interesting features). And you can have a communist economy.

And the Underdogs sends you right to the author's page. The great thing about The Underdogs is they go out of their way to be legal and legit. They are not a warez site.

Settlers.

That "Crisis in the Kremlin" from the website mentioned is absolutely a blast to play, and it's absolutely what the thread starter wants. Get it now!
