Is there sound to the characters voice, or simply text?

I've had no crash problems or really any problem issues at all with the game.. I have music and sound, but when the characters from other civilizations pop up it's only text and music.. Is there supposed to be sound to their voices? I called tech support and they said yes, and had me change the hardware acceleration to off, but that simply eliminated sound all together.

Ah.. not sure what they are talking about but I have not heard anything come out of their mouths. Installed on two machines and they haven't said a peep.

The units on the map however do talk if you zoom in close to them. Click on them and they speak in their correct language. Nifty.

Thanks Junio.. It makes ya laugh.. I call the tech support for the game and they tell me, "yes, you should hear the characters talk" and I'm going nuts trying to figure what's wrong. lol.
