is War realy unavoidable

I am playing on diety I want to win with space race...I am always forced in to war by those blody ganging computers 1 decides to be tought guy declares war on me then he calls all his lil friends and they all attack me and im bieng invaded in 2 turns of war by like 200 units ;(

Why does computer always try to conquer me on diety ? what did i do wrong ???

Having a big army is the only real deterence. But getting thru a game on Deity completely without war is going to be extremely hard (OCC excluded). I can't recall hearing of anyone pulling it off in a normal game.

I suggest you read Peaceful Americans (Deity) - Take 2 for a deity level game played by betazed and won without building a single military unit.

I played Regent as the Iriqous on an huge earth map. I won (spaceship) and never went to war once.

I ahve played a couple diety games that I won. In one of them noone declared war on me. In the other, I paid the rest of the world to ally with me against the agressor. It was a pangea, so everyone had access. The aggressor was promptly crushed.

Ace4nyC here is a tip for you. Always have a giant economy, so if one of the computers decides to demand tribute from you or just declare war for no reason, pay a bunch of other civs to sign a military allance with you to take hime out.

In fact now that I think of it, this is a doubly good, while your military allance buddies are fighting in the war you can keep teching up like mad and have an insane economy.

LoL it was too funny guys Btw call me ace I was in middle of like 4 countries germans rome egypt turkey and celts all the sudden they whent to war with each other and since i was in middle for no reason they all declared war on me (i had the only horses and iron around) i got crushed in like 4 turns

The funniest part wich i dont understand i was still researching fudelism and alot of them where already in industrial era Marching around with musketmen and cavalary it was realy REALY sad Oh Well


btw having a huge army on border realy does help until computer desides its big tough and nasty to mess with you and if u take 5 cities on the opening turn of war and u can hold it for few turns u can peace em easy

War isnt 'unavoidable' it is just downright necessary.

What you did wrong was either got too big and the computer decided to bring you down or/and didnt have enough military and the computer saw an easy target.

Even your bestest buddy AI trading partner will dogpile you if he thinks he can get away with it.

Never neglect you military.

Very true ! i hate it when they do that .....when they do i crush em I crush em dearly ! Reminds of me time when i was playing regent pengea i whent on world domantion quest becuase one country wich was my horses supplier needed help so i steped in and beat them up but then they decided to get stupid and declare war on em no i use one of there cities as nuke center where the nukes get tested until i got bored and just took over with a marine lol
