In a slightly modded game which i have played over and over from the 4000 BC save i just recently began a campaign against an island nation controlled by Greece. It is the early medieval Ages for me and Late Ancient Ages for everyone else. The Knight is my greatest advantage.

The situation is this, the Greeks attacked my island colony south of France unprovoked. Most likely they wanted the horses there. I had seen this coming so i prepared two stacks of Knights in Galleys off their coast. The campeign has just started and here of my starting plan.

Okay here it is, please excuse the poor quality screenie.

In words the plan is this:

Step 1: Land troops at Sparta as a feint and if lucky grab the spices. Land at Delphi for the main assualt.

Step 2: After hopefully taking Delphi and perhaps Sparta, the troops at Delphi will advance northward to Capture Cornith to shorten the long supply line from Antioch and Arabela.

Step 3: If Sparta is not already taken, the troops from Cornith reinforced by troops from Antioch will take it.

Step 4: Push to Athens, then to Thermplyae.

The two front war section will enter into play tommorow.

Good logistics planning. Not sure if you can keep a lot of their size 1 cities though

Looks like he's going to get a lot of workers in that island but only 2 cities.

Yes, my feeling exactly. Problem is this: The Zulu have surprised attacked me on my northern border. The supply line to Greece is to long to keep up under attack from two ways. Already hordes of Impis have attacked me. Granted, they all die when they attack my fortified Pikemen in cities, but they are pretty tough to fight all the way to Zimbawbwe against. The intial horde they sent against me was three units aginst my strongest city. The Ai isn't too smart is it?;)

Here are some picture depicting the landings and the Zulus' initail attack.

Here is the lower landing by Delphi with a stack of 7 knights, soon to be followed by a knight and a longbowman.

Here is the upper landing with 5 knight units soon to be followed by two more.

Ooops, forgot to post screenie, here is upper landing

Here is the lower landing's aftermath. The five Greek units you see are 1 hoplite, 1 Archer, and 3 Warriors. Let's see how they do against 6 Knights.

Here is the aftyermath of the northern attack, as you can see the upper attack went a lot less smoothly, resulting in the deaths of all but two Knights. They still have at least 2 Hoplites left in town, so it looks like they will have to wait for the lower group to take Sparta.

Here is the intial pathetic attack by the Zulu, before the Impi hordes came. BE warned, this will cause extreme laughter at Shaka. He had also landed 1 Warrior along my eastern coast, i have yet to decide his fate.

In this picture of GReece you can see that three things have happened.

1: my troops in the north have been utterly destroyed.
2: my navy of 6 Galleys in the south was destroyed by 5 Greek Galleys that came out of nowhere. Fortunately i killed off 4 of them beforei went down so they can't blockade me. This is going to seriously ruin the reinforcement flow as i have to shift to building galleys to replace them instead of building lots of knights.
3: the southern forces completely destroyed the Greek army sent to attack us without a causulty.

This leaves me in a bad position in Greece. reinforcements won't be able to arrive till more galleys are built, the knights have to retreat to heal giving the Greeks more time to regroup and counterattack, and corruption is seriously bad so i have to use only the troops i have got.

Meanwhile, my counterattack against the Zulu hordes succeeded and i pushed on to Zimbawbwe, which is right outside my borders.

The stack contains 10 immortals and 1 longbowman. Tjis should probabky be enough to defeat Shaka who doesn't have any iron to build swords or pikes.

i said longbowmen. Bowmen and Longbowmen are different. Babylon is in this game though.
