So, I have noticed that even Archipelago maps produced with the random map generator don't really appear to simulate isolationism and true naval power.
I made this map by modifying a random Archipelago map, there is also a slight rules modification to get a better 8 player civ distance, just to the world maps.
This is the first of a series of many betas in which the map will change and be modded until a satisfying result is found, since the random map generator properties cannot really be modified I will tell you using map seeds that have 1-3 or more 1s (ex: 1, 11, 111, etc) usually produce more interesting maps (I haven't spent much time playing with different seeds though, but this is only the first beta).
