Two boys are playing hockey on a pond in a park in Toronto,
when one is attacked by a rabid Rottweiler. Thinking quickly,
the other boy takes his stick, wedges it down the dogs collar
and twists, breaking the dog's neck. A reporter who was strolling
by sees the incident, and rushes over to interview the boy.

"Young Leafs Fan Saves Friend From Vicious Animal," he starts
writing in his notebook. "But I'm not a Leafs fan," the little
hero replied. "Sorry, since we are in Toronto, I just assumed
you were." said the reporter and starts again.

"Little Jays Fan Rescues Friend From Horrific Attack" he continued
writing in his notebook. "I'm not a Jays fan either," the boy said.
"I assumed everyone in Toronto was either a Leafs or Jays fan. What
team, do you root for?" the reporter asked.

"I'm a Montreal Canadiens fan." the child said. The reporter starts
a new sheet in his notebook and writes, "Little French Bastard from
Montreal Kills Beloved Family Pet."

I think I can use that joke, just change some nationalities :mischief:

 I'm not offended, 'cause I hate ALL of the east (expect the Mairtimes)

erm... the Maritimes IS the east. So what do you hate then? The Gulf of St. Lawrence?

This is a great joke. It kind of reminds me of Bob Cole and Harry Neale calling a Leafs - Canadiens game.

Quebec is in central Canada, is it? When did they move it?

For my money Ontario and Quebec are both pretty solidly east. That'd put SK and MB in the middle and BC and AB in the west. I will understand if some Easterners think Saskatchewan is western, but having grown up around mountains, I don't tend to call them flat places western :)

What's next, some wiseguy who thinks Northern California is San Francisco? Oh, wait... people already DO think that. Sigh.

Least it was a good joke. I am missing my quota of good Canadian jokes just now -- my last trip there, I went a WHOLE WEEK without being able to see even ONE Royal Canadian Air Farce rerun because they were being aired at a bad time of day for my schedule. I may not recover.

Central Canada refers to the area around Ottawa, which is southern Quebec and east Ontario. What do you mean Quebec is the centre of Canada? The middle of Canadian territory is like somewhere in Northwest Territories.

Here is another one for Canadians:

During the settling of the Canadian west, two English ladies are travelling on a train. They arrive in Saskatoon and begin to wonder where they are. One gets off and finds a railway official and asks "Excuse me sir, could you tell me where I am?" To which the man replies "Saskatoon, Saskatchewan." She gets back on the train and the other woman asks what the man said. "I don't know, but they sure don't speak English here"
