I got a couple of games recently for the PC that seem better suited to something other than a keyboard and mouse. I tried an Xbox 360 controller but the games don't work properly on it, so I'm thinking of getting a joystick. I don't know anything about them but I don't want to spend a lot on one since I only have a couple of games that will use it.

I have a very cheap Logitech that's shaped just like a playstation controller that has worked with every game I tried to use it for. It was the cheapest one they had at the time. $10 us I like it. Has a nice weight and feel to it.

So do you want a joystick or a game pad? You can probably find a cheap Logitech joystick like the Extreme 3D pro ( I dunno full retail, but it cost me 15$ and works perfectly fine)

Go to Maplins and get the cheapist one they do, or if that looks tacky the second cheapest.

Something by Saitek is probably the best quality you can get in a low end joystick.

The problem with the controller I'm using is that the second analogue stick doesn't work and the triggers don't work properly. I don't know if a PlayStation style one would work.

The cheapest joystick I could find was made by Saitek. http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3510526/Saitek-ST30-Joystick/Product.html

I don't know if I should go for one that costs more, because they have one for £12.99 and another at £17.99. There are other joysticks within the same price range made by Speed Link (1, 2, 3) , Logitech and Trust.
