Just purchased Civ2 Test of Time. I'm finding the research trees for the various worlds very hard to follow in the Civilopedia, however. Also , the unit info in the Civilopedia is sketchy on which units can move to which worlds etc. I'm also a player who hates having to constantly look up stats/info through complicated indexes. I like the flow chart/poster format for info and was surprised to find no poster included in the box. My only previous experience with Civ was the Playstation version which had the poster. So I scanned the disc's manual and, sure enough, it refers to both the civilopedia and the poster. Now, my question is this...before I go ranting to my point of purchase, was I supposed to get a poster or not? I know this may seem like a trivial question, but all this looking up everything all the time is seriously hampering my enjoyment of the game and causing not a few strategical errors. Little help?

Hi Maria,

I have Civ2 Test of Time and there is definitely a poster included in the box. I use it all the time ....its getting a bit raggy now through continual folding and unfolding.

Also in the box was the CD, a manual and a terrain reference booklet. Since these boxes always come shrink-wrapped, I dont know how yours got the poster left out.

Was the shrink-wrap intact when you bought it ? Anyways, you should have one. Tell them I said so !

Perhaps it would be wiser for you to try the 1st episode of Civ. It would be more interesting then, to discover the fantastic and highly addictive world of Sid Meier. Civ is not like Quake because in these kind of games you can access the 1st as well as the 3rd opus immediatly. There's nothing to understand. Whereas with Civ, I think it's better to begin with the beginning...
And it would also give you an opportunity to start softly

Personnally, that's what I would do if I were you. Of course it's not compulsory but you'll miss something great, since each civ is an unique experience... I suppose you'll never see star wars episode 5 before episode 4, right? So it's the same thing here. Trust me, you won't be disappointed

Barring having obtained it from the back of a truck, you should have gotten a poster. A honking big one too. I'd go pitch a fit, were I you. Then again, were I you, I'd be asking the question, not answering it, so I guess I can't say that, can I?

I believe you can download the tech tree, in a couple of different formats, from this site or from Apolyton. PM or Email Thuderfall to ask where to download if you can not find it.

Welcome Maria.
