Since in this game will likely center around human-human-interaction, wouldn`t it be interesting to have one or two more units with hidden nationality?
Unfortunately, I think that would cause a severe game unbalance, as all you would have to do is build a massive stack of them, and conquer the world. No need to research, conduct diplomacy, etc.

I highly support this idea. maybe create a nija (2.2.1 50 shields?) with hidden nationality available with feudalism. Or make longbowmen 3.1.1 (50 shields) with hidden nationality. and of course the gueirlla.
My only concern would be with when terms switch. if there's a privateer that's been going in and out of sight, and the player's trying to pin down a nationality, and that would get screwed up having to tell the next player every single save.
In any case, we should give privateer a transport capacity of 1.

Not really, because hidden nationality units can`t conquer cities. If I remember correctly, they can`t even attack them.
All they could really do is harrass.

Not to mention all the errors we will get with people trying to install it ...
Custom units / civilizations / etc. will unbalance the game. Removing an unbalancing aspect, a la Statue of Zeus is fine. But adding unbalancing aspects will not be fun.
