Just an Idea...

I know many people do not like the game because of the lake of 'choices' when it comse to playing. I also know many people have thought up this idea, but I wanted to post my version of it(even tho I can not mod)

Re-work the native american tribes(do not add or remove any of the current ones, just make them playable). Adding buildings for them to build, and insted of trading with a 'mother country' they would trade with the Europeans, or other tribes(like they really did.) They would be just like the other Civs, they would each have their own UU/UB per Native tribe, Multi leaders. (we can use leader heads that were made for Civ 4, I'v seen LOTS of good ones)

Now, victory..

I'v come up with a few.....

1) Unite the Tribes; Its just what you think. You can either A) Ally with all other tribes, then remove the European countries from your land

2) Tribal Conquest; Kill all European countries, and all other Native Tribes.

3) Pass the Peace Pipe; Ally yourself with Every other Civ on the map(Euros & Tribes)

4) Domination; Just like Civ4, control % of land and population

Heres an Idea...


Give natives different units.. IE;

Native Scout; Requies furrs and wood(for clothing and weapons) high movement low attack(like normal Civ4 scount
Native Raider; same requirments but pilage and colony attack bonus
Native Spy; can sneak into colonys and steal guns, horses ect...


These are just a few ideas. To replace the trade networking of the euros, your buildings will be allowing you to build units. EI;

Scount Tent 1; Allows to build scouts with -1 fur and -1 wood per turn. Scout tent 2; gives scouts EXP Bonus when built.

and have your buildings be based off of these ideas and themes. You can even do kinda like a special building that only the native tribes can build that are very high cost and require allies and stuff that like to help with the victories. Like a building called 'Meeting of the Chiefs' where, once you have all the other natives allied with you, allows you control over their cities and helps your defeate the euro nations.

Insted of Elder Statesmen, you could have just Elders, and they build up 'Tribal Unity' which is what you use to unit the tribes. Every AI tribe, once you have a certain % of your people wanting to 'Unite the Tribes' will allie with you, and give control over their cities/units.


Just some more ideas.

Hey Keeshi,

Some people have tried to make Natives playable, including Dale in AOD, but as yet noone has managed to pull it off succesfully. It seems that there is a lot of work involved, and atm not a lot for natives to do, without simple 'europeanising' them.

Thats the point of chaning their units around and giving them buildings to empisize them. And different victory conditions to reflect these changes.


But like I said, these are just ideas. I am no way a modder.

I hope you find some time for modding in future and finally release your ideas in some "real" form. These ideas are good, it's sad that there's no implementation yet.
