Kael gives an Interview

You know what, disregard my earlier post. Seems like RifE is somewhat stable :P We'll just play that instead.

You should compare the number browsing Civ 4 forums with the number browsing FfH forums. Might cut the quantity in half there :p Or at least subtract out everyone in the Creation/Customization section since modding for Civ 5 is still in infancy at this point, so it isn't fair to compare base game against fully developed mods.

As far as the Kael interview: As stated, the interview was about the game and position he is with now. Not about Kael himself, nor his past. So FfH popping up would be like you talking about your first girlfriend in the middle of a proposal (to someone else).

As far as Kael and FfH: Months before he was approached for his new position, he clearly stated that he considers FfH to be finished. He said that he MIGHT make a few balance updates on occasion, but that he and the team were moving on to other activities. He acknowledged that there were still some bugs, but that fixing them would take extensive time and resources, and quite likely cause other ones which may be more severe. He also stated that he was sure that the mod-mods would continue to develop things and might even offer support/stability patches for the main game for the benefit of the community (those who don't play their mod-mod).

So you cannot claim that Kael has abandoned FfH because of his new job in any way. He had already finished with FfH, and now he has bigger issues to deal with. His old job was ideal for modding, his new one is almost EXACTLY the worst position you can have as a modder (if any of your mod content even remotely resembles the professional content you are working on, you face heaps of legal issues. But you only have one brain, so thoughts of work will seep into the mod, and thoughts of the mod will seep into work. So some overlap WILL happen if you attempt to work on both).
