Flying boats are very cool. Luxury yaughts are also cool. Luxury flying yaughts would be very, very cool. Plaything of the uber rich who want the private luxury of thier yaught but are tiered of waiting for flunkies to bring it down from wherever they were last while they have to sleep in a hotel with the proles (or at least the meerly fairly rich).

The Beriev Be-200 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beriev_Be-200 has a commercially available mixed passenger/ cargo configeration. Since it has its stamps already you could probably reconfiger the cargo section to quarters fairly painlessly, expand the gally etc.

When the uber-rich start getting competative re-configering larger boats could become economical.

Now you can flit between the med, the carribian and the pacific rim in privacy and luxury!

Fact is, the flight deck isn't the kind of deck you'd put deck chairs on.

Perhaps, but it defies standard notions of what a yacht deck chair should be, and that's a bad thing.

The absence of a sundeck is a problem. You do need somewhere to have your cocktails... Some sort of pontoon possibly, collapsable for transport. Like a savile row version of the bridges we send to desaster areas. I think the company leading the field is in the uk somewhere - I will go and research it.
