Way out there...
What do you get if you combine Lukree's great space terrain, the standard Fireaxis terrain and Embryodead's neat trick to create landmark terrain of all types?

Exactly: the perfect combination for truly epic scenarios starting from the bronze age until space colonization... ;)

In this graphics set the Fireaxis terrain set is inserted into the Lukree set as landmark terrain. This means that maps with this terrain can only be made manually, or else you end up with a map using Lukree's set only.

If you wish to make your own version of this map, make sure to use this map as a base. It includes Embryodead's HEX editing that is needed for the LM sea and ocean tiles.

In the preview you will find a small example using a modified version of Lord Parkin's world map:

Very unique. I wonder how you could allow people only to go to space after they have spaceships though.

Well way I did it was make Mnts = space (adjusting other terrain to replace Mnts) and then set land units to not be able to enter the old mnts (i.e. make wheeled). Then made space units = land so they could enter the new space. Problem then becomes para and air units that need adjusting/tweaking to keep out. Posted some discussion on this last year .. still working to balance and adjust things in my mod for this. But real nice to see this as another development.

Oh my required custom maps and I'm sure this one does also .. if do random get some really weird results.

Very cool Flamand. It would take some thought to implement...

One of my first thought was "what about the x-axis??" :mischief:

Very unique. I wonder how you could allow people only to go to space after they have spaceships though.

I figured this could be done by putting cities on the ring around the world map, call it orbital space or something. If you make it so that you only build cities on the outer edge of orbital space and make space ships generated by some wonder requiring a resource in that city you can do it... ;)

Unless desired it shouldn't be necessary to preplace the cities on the outer ring. Just make sure that any cities that would be built at a "space port" would not also have access to water and do as you've suggested Flamand and put a resource (or possibly a ring of them) out in outer space just close enough to land to allow the space ports to encompass them with in there radii. This would allow wonders/improvements to produce specific space parts as before stated. You'd want to be sure too, of not allowing any city built on the ocean side of the outer ring to access the resource taking into account the maximum city radius. You'd probably not want any cities on that side anyway so making the inside unsettle-able would likely be advisable.

Looks great, Flamand.:)

(I'd totally missed that tutorial... Guess I should pay more attention to the tutorial forum.)

Wow! You posted it! Very cool!

Now I can have a prequel to my First Few Steps...I can see it now...One Small Step...
