Setting up Civ III for the first time in many years. So I will update Play the World extension with the 1.27f patch. But I see that is important to match the update with the correct language version of the extension (and base game).
This is a problem as I can´t find the version I have. It can be US or UK I guess.

So does anyone know where i can find the version info. It would be very helpful.

Most Civ editions these days are already fully patched, e.g. the "Civilization Complete", the version that comes with "Chronicles of Civilization" and also the non-CD versions available on Steam and GoG. Do you really still have the original CD releases that require manually adding the patches? (In this case you won't be able to play them anyway, unless you still have a Windows XP installation: Microsoft removed support for the SecuRom driver in all Windowses since Vista...

I run a Civ III including PTW from a cd double game pack. It runs fine in my Win 7 laptop. I keep the 7 because I dislike the 10, and I have other applications that doesn't like win 10.
Steam works fine most of the time but I spend some of my time in places without net connection and some games won't run at all without it.
