I just don't get how the ratings work on the leaderboards at all. My record in free for all is 4-5 and I have 190 rating points. Above me on my friends list there are people with records of 2-16, 3-13, 0-2, 0-1, 0-4, 0-2, 3-13, 4-9. They all have considerably more than 1,000 points. This just isn't making any sense to me at all. How am I behind all of these guys? MY win/loss record is better than absolutely every one of them.

Someone please explain.

Its the total amount of points you get per game 48/48 on science, 5/5 for domination, etc.

From what I know at least.

Well that wouldn't make much sense, as all of the games that I've won I've nearly completed all four categories. Plus how could someone who's 0-3 have 1,000+ points?

I am pretty sure that they use a ranking system like in proffessional chess. They compare the rankings of the players. This ends up meaning that if you lose a game against a higher ranked player but it was close, you may even move up. On the other hand, if you win games against very low ranked people you may not move up at all. Another thing is that if they got second in a game with four people, they still beat two people.

So yesterday I noticed something interesting. I was playing a multiplayer game and I had 4 of the 5 capitals, and I had twice the tech of the remaining guy. It was obvious I was going to win, but then the unfortunate happens: the game froze and the gears in the corner between turns didn't stop turning.

Of course, I wanted the other guy to quit since I was clearly going to win, but after waiting about 15 minutes and noticing that he went idle, I realized I might have to wait all night, and I wasn't prepared to do that since I wanted to use my internet for other things. So I reluctantly quit and accepted the loss, but when I checked my leaderboard score, I realized that even though I was credited with a loss, my rating and position had gone up after the loss! So it must take into account how you fared in the game and not just whether you won or loss.

That's a bug that has happened at least on the PS3 system.

You started out on 0 points as opposed to 1200, which means you're gonna have to play a lot to catch up.

I got the same problem on all of team, H2H and FFA, but it suddenly fixed itself on FFA yesterday...

I'm sure they are looking into the problems and are trying to find the issue.

What's a bug? If you were responding to my post, no, I don't think it is a bug.
