So, I have been playing FFh2 after a pretty long hiatus, and it appears that bronze has become rather rarer than it used to. Entire continents (on Continents map script) without any of it.

Was this a change made at some point, that I don't know about? Makes Mines of dul-gur look a whole lot better. (because the whole 'metal' line of techs isn't as useful).

Mines of Gal-Dur gives you cold, hard iron, not bronze.

As for the supposed scarcity of the latter, I didn't notice. Maybe just luck?

The metal like rocks. More so if you are a dwarf. Mind you, a real one, not those Luchuirp weirdos.

Since Bronze is so rare, I'll just have to get my Iron Golem to pound you into the dirt, and then set you on fire. And then wail on you some more. And then set you on fire again.

I haven't noticed the lack of bronze. What mapscript are you using?

Very bizarre. Used to be that pretty much any medium sized country would have bronze weapons when they researched the tech, now I've seen entire games with virtually none.

Have you checked in world builder mode to verify this? Perhaps something has Glitched and The bronze is in fact spawning as mithril.
Edit: or something

I'm new to this mod, but over the ~5 games I've played into the 200s I've yet to find Bronze in my national borders.

Of course I can see some on the map, just usually not in a good place for me to go get.

It does seem rarer than in BTS, but my sample size is also quite small. I kind of like it the way it appears to be. You are lucky indeed if you have it in your starting area, or you have to prioritize your expansion to get it, which in FFH seems a more tricky proposition than in BTS.

The placement of bronze (how many and where) is handled by the mapscript you choose and not by the mod itself.

Playing with the game on a small map or with the option that doubles resources (Blessing of Amathaon) enabled can reduce the frequency of some resources, because you're effectively asking the mapscript to place more resources than places for which it can find. When a mapscript can't find a tile for a resource (according to the rules for placing that resource) it stops placing that resource and moves on to the next one.

I don't know whether Bronze is specifically affected by this; resources are placed in a certain order and being later in the list makes a resource more likely to be reduced (or eliminated). On a small map the placement of Reagents can become problematic, and some times none is actually placed on the map. (This affects some mapscripts more than others, because the exact size of the map under a certain size option is defined by the mapscript itself.) There may be other resources that are being reduced but not eliminated, and it's possible that Bronze could be one of those resources.

I don't play with Blessing of Amathaon enabled, so I can't say from experience which resources or on what map sizes problems placing resources will arise. I can say that, because double the normal number of resources are being placed, there is a much greater chance for resource placement problems to arise for any given map size.

So, if you are having problems with resources not appearing or being scarce then you should consider turning off Blessing of Amathaon (if you use it) or playing on a larger map. Of course, neither of those actions will guarantee that you have access to any particular resource.
