Limited size unit stacks for combat in Civ 6/Civ 7

I would like to see stacks return but with a limit in size. For example stacks could be 6 to 10 units in max size.

Ranged units could still shoot, for example artillery units could soften up an enemy stack before melee units close in for combat.

Mainly I would like to see stacks is for the AI could move them around better than single units.
