Linux: Running FfH2 through Wine

I am these days playing BTS, FfH and even FF on my laptop, which has Ubuntu and an Intel graphics card. There are several graphical bugs and it is not working very fast. However, it is still quite playable, and I just followed some Wine FAQs in order to install it properly...
 
EDIT: I might simply try to reinstall, but do the winetricks first this time. For my current install, I just tried it out of the box... BTW, Should I remove Wine enterily first to make sure I get rid of unwanted "system files"?
You probably could reinstall Wine (not from a standard repository but from the official Wine one) to get rid of the original, but wrong, Windows DirectX files.
When you install the winetricks stuff doesn't matter, the Civ4 setup worked for me without them.

I've only had time to try out BtS as of yet, and after copying a DirectX-DLL manually it worked. But once a video wanted to play the game froze (I'm pretty sure "installing" the Bink codec as stated in a vanialla Civ4 Wine test will fix this). No glitches occurred during the first 20 turns, but it was quite slow. Maybe I shouldn't set everything to high quality... ;) I'll try more and post that testing page I wrote about.
 
Ok this is really freaky... If I install BTS with latest patch it works... no problems. If I install FFH or BUG I need to change a command option to get them to work

from:
mod=\Fall from Heaven 2
to:
mod=/Fall from Heaven 2

And they work without a problem FFH and BUG.

Thing is now my vanilla BTS won't work :confused:

The only difference is if there is a mod enabled or not.

So BTS 3.19 works flawlessly, I install a mod to "mods" folder. Now mods work without a problem, but "vanilla" BTS won't

I've followed AppDB instructions to a letter. I have no idea what is going on. It must be something stupid like some / or \ out of place but I just can't see it :(

Any ideas? Trying to fix this for a 3 days already :(
