Hey, first off I'm new to this forum, so hello.

I've been playing Civ for about half a decade, and I'm only now exploring MODs.
I have Blue Marble, (which is installed permanently, so that's not a problem) but I can't seem to get multiple MODs working at one time.
Now when I say multiple MODs, I mean say SuperSpies and SHAM.
Not actual gameplay maps, I'm not trying to combine Planetfall and Heaven or something.

The problem I'm having, is all these MODs that I want to appear in every game from now on, are not.
They are all unzipped and placed in my Documents/My Games/Civ/Beyond the Sword/MODs folder.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?
One of the guides said that this would work, so that's why I'm thrown off as to why it hasn't.

I'm running Vista and have full administrative permissions.
Could it be a chacheing problem?

I know there are Modpacks, but often those have too many extra things I'm not ready to introduce yet, or they're lacking some stuff.
Like Car.

So if you guys come help me out, I'd appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum! :)

Mods that you want to load in every single game should be installed in the CustomAssets folder, ( I guess in your case it'll be Documents/My Games/Civ/Beyond the Sword/CustomAssets). That's where Blue Marble is installed, and it is why it loads every time.

The next thing is to realize that only ONE mod can be loaded at any time. Say you wanted to play a mod that alters some of the same files that Blue Marble changes -- doesn't work. You then need to merge those two together. I've actually written a tutorial on this, which you can find in the Tutorials section of this forum.

Oh, by the way: SuperSpies and SHAM both modify the CvGameCoreDLL.dll file, and so if you just want to combine these two, you'll have some pretty interesting work ahead of you. ;) Unless you are a programmer already, that is. You probably want to start merging something a little easier, if you're not a programmer.

I have seen your tutorial actually, but unfortunately I don't know much about programming.
But I appreciate the answer.
So, are there any Mods that can be loaded together at the same time, automatically, from the custom assets folder?
Would they all, in theory, modify the same files that Blue Marble does?

Also, what does Bug, Bat and Bull consist of?
Are they mod packs made up of already existing, and now merged mods?
Or is that a completely new thing?

- Edit: Nevermind the part about merging Mods, I realised that they can be placed in the Custom Assets folder, and be used at the same time, if they don't change the, "Gamecore".
Merging would happen then when two Mods both have a, "Gamecore" file.

- - Edit edit: Some sort of "unit error" problem when I try to do this.
