Loading without expansion?

Sorry for the newb question...

but is there a simple way to turn off the Rise and Fall expansion if you want to start a new single player game with vanilla?

Im buying the expansion for my multiplayer friend so we can have it for new multiplayer games but he wants to play more single player games the old way...

Go to the main menu, and select "Additional Content". On the left-hand side of the screen you will see listed the various DLC, the R&F expansion, and any mods you have subscribed to. Any of those items can be enabled or disabled from that screen. Disable "Expansion: Rise and Fall" and then back out of that screen and create a new game from the main menu.

Note: This will not remove R&F from any existing game save -- for this to have effect, you would need to create a new game.

@Browd Wouldn't it be easier to just select the "Standard Rules" Ruleset on the dropdown menu when you create a new game?

Haven't tried that. Probably works, and definitely easier.
