I can imagine the microsoft software enigineers going "come on guys we gotta do some about this BSOD... hmmmm...er..well ... lets make it red.. that'll do it"

Back in the old days (Win3.1 and Win9x), you could change the color of the Bluescreen, and make it non-blue if that it what you wanted. I don't remember how to do it anymore, though.
