Hey guys. Im new to this game and im new to this forum aswell. I bought civilization 5 game long time ago but havent really played that much.
Anyway im looking for a person who could teach me how to play 1v1. I know that experience makes it all but i would like someone to help me get on the right side of the road (if i can use that expression). I do have all newest dlc's.
I can play almost whenever.. Up from 11 to 23 gmt/utc+0.

I ve been away from Civ for about a year but probably will come back to the game btu maybe not as fanaticly as before. I see that some familiar faces are still playing (tommynt), but the Civplayers chat was quite empty, is it still alive?

Anyhow to the question. Back in the days a real good way to catch up on strategies and improe was teamers. You will learn a lot more than playing 1v1. For example playing vs Tommynt he will kill you and then tell you a bit what you did wrong. Playing in a teamer with Tommynt against some other guys and he ll tell you what you can do different and improve during the whole game aswell as you can see exactly what he does/build etc and ask him about it.

So, in short. I dont know if a lot of teamers are still played but best way to improve imo in all aspects of the game is to look for a mentor to play teamers with.

Hi Itlas

I can't claim to be an expert (I've been on Civ V about a year and Civ IV, III and II prior to that), but I can claim (like you) to be able to play fairly flexibly. I also have a few good mates of similar (and higher) abilities that like an online game.

If you want to get some practice in multiplayer games, I'd be happy to invite you to our games. I'm online this evening from about 7pm GMT as my misses is "out with the girls drinking wine". If you fancy a game I can set that up. Can do a 1v1 or see if any of the guys are around.

We're trying to get a regular game night each week as well where we play (and finish) our games, so there should be plenty of opportunities to join us.

Would love to. Add me to steam or tell me your nickname :)

Btw about those videos tommy. I did try to play few 1v1 but the problem is that i have no idea why would you do one thing or another sometimes.. I guess i should read a lot about civilization before even playing it but i just would like someone to explain me why and what to do at given situations :)

in weekends pretty alive - apart that not so much - whole civ5 mp is a bit dead ..

The NQ group is still pretty active on week ends. But there is almost no teams or 1vs1 games like for civplayers(ranked games are more suited for teams and duels).
