So I am flying along kicking civ but on a huge map with 14 civs. I have kicked off all rivals fom my massive continent. It was 1070 and the game crashed. I reboot and try again. CRASH. I move the saved game file, uninstall/reinstall and try again . . . CRASH. With dread I realize I might have to install 117.
After installing the patch I bring up the game file and no CRASH. There is celebration all trough America. Abe has fixed the 1070 bug.
Up until this point I had been funding my massive army/workers with my tech advantage. The gold per turn coming in from selling techs was more then paying for my units. Now though I sell a tech to Russia and everyone has by the time I get Joan on the phone to sell it to her! WTH I know that there are posts on this here, but I am having troble finding them. Where can I get 116 (I hear that this problem does not occur with that patch), and when is Fraxis coming out with a patch to fix the speed of light tech trade?

be warned, the pace of tech trading in 1.17 is ridiculously fast, but with 1.16 the AI civs will occassionally trade those techs during your turn, which is also frustrating

I usually play on huge maps, 16 civs, and small archipelagos. The tech progression is not fast at all, since most civs cannot contact each other till they get astronomy or navigation, which takes a while. I love those games.. Currently 730AD and 5 islands still have no civs on them, and there are like 3 groups of nations, each group having no contact with the other 2 groups. I love it! :)

:goodjob: That's a good idea narmox, I'll have to give it a try in my next game!

actually, it`s not too bad. You just have to be careful planning wars on tech superiority......
