My dad likes civ and has done since the first game. a bit weird he has never liked any other game in his life, but anyay, he likes civ and I'm a bit intrested to and i got quite adicted to civ2 for a while when i was younger, but not so much to civ3. but all the reveiws, screenies and the little voice at the back of my head is pointing to civ4 being a good game, but horror beyond horror, my dad's computer isn't upto it, and that means that I will have to sacrifice my own cash if I want to play it.

what is the lowest amount of specs anyone has had that can support civ4? this could also turn into a sort of comparing specs thread, but most importantly £20 is on the line here :)

My friend has run the game on this configuration:
Celeron 500 MHz
Via 694+
256 SD RAM
40 GB Maxtor
Geforce 2 MX 400 64MB

And the game runs on small terrain very good.

it's up to the stuff that are in the box---it depends on the configuration. Some of the people are complainging about the game that does not run on therir box and that's true, you should wait for the patch and then try it maybe you will be lucky.

I am in the middle of installing it on my Sinclair Spectrum 48k, I had a hell of a job converting the disc to audio cassettes. I have only got 500 more c60 tapes to install and it should be done by then.

Fingers crossed :D

Let's face it, you pretty much need Sid's personal computer to play this damned game.

Hrm.... Hunt Valley is only 20 mins from here....

My computer:

p4 3.4GHz
1.0G PC 4200
80GHD (x2)
GeForce6600 256MB

On my system, this so-called game crashes, gives me BSODs, does wierd things with the various screens, and is generally a complete waste of $50.

Your mileage may vary.

Later!
