Main menu has no text.

At first my game was crashing but I fixed that, now whenever I go into it, I just see this: http://i.imgur.com/CPmNZM6.jpg

those weird rectangles are, I assume, the menu items and I can click on them but then something else comes up and that has no text...I'm very confused.

My dxdiag is attached.

If it helps, I could only run Civ V in DirectX9 mode (even though my drivers are DX11 compatible) otherwise that game would crash.

This issue was resolved by re-installing the game (my guess it was the Steam pre-load)
