Mana nodes disappearing?

are mana nodes supposed to disappear when you teach adepts new spells? (water node disappearing when i teach my adept spring)

Check your event log, it may be that those pesky Amurites where using their world spell when you have your back turned.

The Amurite world spell is useful if you are playing the Amurites and wat to build the towers. Simply build two towers, cast spell, and rebuild different mana nodes for the other towers.

The AI doesn't seem to know how to use it for any real purpose. The additional exp for the adept units even goes to waste by the AI. I have never seen the AI upgrade an Adept, and I have never seen them cast spells (other than world spells).

edit: The AI doesn't realize it, but when I see the Amurite world spell go off, they have just received a diplo modifier: "-12 You destroyed all my mama nodes!"

I've seen the AI use spells plenty of times. That noise followed by a stack of spell resisted messages or unit frozen messages is a dead giveaway.

They even cast at my ships that get too close to land.

The AI does use spells but they never upgrade their adepts which is the main problem. also i doubt the AI understands that they gain xp over timer, i allways see adepts getting thrown out into peril where they get dead really fast and the ai then train new adepts who also get deaded.

This is all because of one huge flaw of the AI warmachine. It simply doesnt value its units like a human does. Heroes and adepts have the same value to the ai as any other footsoldier. this means that they often just get wasted. Last i saw Basium he was strolling up to a well fortified city and got completly obliterated.
