this is a map of egypt and sorrounding area based on LouLongs civ 3 South-east mediterranean map. i did this because its probably my favoiurite civ 3 map that i wanted to play for CIV.

version 1.0
there is 1 known error that i have to iron out and thats the fact that only 7 civilizations are availble for selection and only 2 of them are from the area in question: Egypt and Greece i will work this out eventually. I Promise.

version 1.2
only known error is all the civs already know each other i think this is because i was using 1 civ to place all the others by placing a warrior near the proposed start location, i think i can get rid of this when the sdk comes out. i won't be done before then because i just spent 2 days redoing a map that took me 40 minutes to do in the first place!

heres a preview

i will do that tomorrow after work.

a new version will be posted on Monday or Tuesday with all the civilization chooseable. i have conseded the fact that i have to start the map over to get the rest of the civs in

OK I took a look. My only complaint would be that it would be very difficult for expansion if you're Egypt once you occupy a few cities along the nile. Perhaps change some of the desert tiles to savanah(?) or add more oasis for gameplay purposes.

There also seems to be an enormous amount of uranium. If there should be any excessive resource it should obviously be oil.

Otherwise a pretty good map :goodjob:

ok thats because when i was placing resources i was at 4000BC and all modern resoureces were invisible so i was randomly clicking with no knowledge of what i had in my hand. a new version with all civs will be made in the beggining of the week which will hopefully address all of these problems

in regards to the egypts loss of expansion i might turn the coast to plains so you can expand that way, the egyptians regarded the desert as hostile lands even if it was only a little bit away, and i think to change the desert surrounding the nile valley to plains would make it too easy as an egyptian player. the goal as egypt would be to unite egyptian lands and expand into modern-day Israel/Palestine area as they did in real life.

also in 10 or so minutes i will post a preview of the current map just bare with me
