Map Request: Carribean map (like Pirates!)

Sorry if this is already somewhere - I couldn't find it in the search.

Could someone make a carribean map based on the Pirates! map? I think it could have a good spread of sea with Islands and a 'mainland' along the south edge of the map.

Here you go.

The first is the 'game screen' map that shows the whole Carribean area. The second is my suggested edited cut-down. What would actually be better would be to move Cuba and all of the islands south closer to the S. American mainland and bring Florida down South as well so the final map would be larger on the X-axis than the Y-axis.

Of course, it may be better to just pull this same data from actual maps (google earth?) and go from there. Either way using the Pirates! cities and factions (Dutch/British/French/Pirates) could provide for some fun scenarios with pre set-up cities & civs/leaders.


EDIT: Looking at it again maybe it would be better to just lop of Florida (or make it a blip at the top of the map big enough to support 1 city) and cut the map from Cuba south and East to the furthest chain of islands.

I'm working on a map of this area also for my pirates mod!

Here is my first draft of the carribean map.

Perhaps later I will skim a few tiles off of mexico's west border so that there is more room by trindad and barbados. However, I don't feel like shifting evey tile a few spaces over. Its a bit cramped there, but overall I'm pleased with the results considering I could only use tiles to draw the map.

Bezurn , i don't know much about the geography of caribbean region so i won't make any comments about the positions of land masses but at least it looks great to play on!! keep working i think it will be good

Thanks, that was just my first draft there, before I used photoshop to get really accurate. I created a larger and more accurate map for my Civ Pirates mod still in its infancy.

Attached to this post is the map I used to create the map plot by plot.
