Hi all,
everytime I try to load a map or a scenario downloaded from Civ Fanatics my Mac sustain those has to be a corrupted file: I tried with China map, WWII scenario and a lot others .bin and .bix.
The files seems placed in the right folders....

All of the others from the site products properly run, but not these ones.

What I have to do? Someone can help me?

Mate, are you running the Mac 1.29f Beta? You'll need that for the '.bic' files (sorry I haven't posted a link, but you'll find one in the thread on the main Mac forums page). The '.bix' ones are only for Play the World, which we don't have (yet).

If you patch your civ3, most maps will run OK. Make sure that you're putting those with rule changes into your 'Scenarios' folder.

Good luck and let us know how you go.

Sid,
maybe mine is an old question but I'm brand new on CivIII (still playing my 1st game - and winning!):

are all the maps/scenarios available online for download suitable for the Mac?
I would say "yes" as - I think - they're just data files and not programmes.
Am I wrong?

Thanks for yr help

Welcome, and good luck on your first game!

Most of the maps should work now -- since we're up to v1.29 (thanks again Brad).

You should check the download page for the specific map/scenario -- there usually is an indication of the version needed to run. As noted above, we do not have the Play the World update yet, so any that are for PTW will be incompatible with the latest Mac update.

See the thread on version 1.29 beta 2 to download the most recent update to the software -- it's a beta, but is very stable and will allow you to play many more scenarios, including the GOTM games.
