When I start the program, it first goes into a blue screen for the intro video. I can hear the sound of the intro video, but the screen is blue.
Then...it eventually gets to the main menu screen, with the rotating earth on the bottom and the big CIVILIZATION IV letters on the top. Only - there's no main menu. It's just a pretty background. HOWEVER if I click around I can actually get a game started, if I get lucky - which makes me think something is just wrong/missing with the images.
But then...when I get the game started, there is again ZERO user interface. I can see the terrain, and I can see my two guys...but other than that, there's nothing on the screen. No information anywhere, no text, just the images.
This problem is so bizarre. My computer should be fine to run this game - 1.8 GHz P4 processor, Nvidia GEFORCE 5700LE, fine sound card, etc. Anybody have any ideas as to what might be wrong with my setup and/or how to fix it?
