Not sure if this will be of any use but I've found running CCleaner on my system after updating drivers helps remove old files that should be unistalled but sometimes linger. This may help some of you, it may not. I hope it does. I know it has fixed sound problems on my system in the past. My system runs perfectly except for the long turns towards the end and stuttering sound in some but not all wonder movies.
Windows XP Pro
Asus P4c800-E Deluxe
Pentium 4 2.8C
2GB Corsair low latency Ram
2 x 160GB Seagate Hdd running Raid 1
1 x 160GB Seagate Hdd for backup purposes
256MB EVGA GeForce 6800GT with latest nvidia drivers
Audigy XGamer sound card with most recent drivers

I swear by CCleaner.

Will it fix all problems, no.

But does a good job cleaning up reg problems and old drivers, which in turn prevents/fixes many issues.

Great system you got there... hard to believe it doesn't play... hopefully the patch will fix the major issues...

ooops... one other thing, when you run ccleaner the first time, run it again, and again, until it comes up with nothing... for whatever reason it doesn't find all the problems on the first run or two...

Hate to triple post but here goes... Has anyone tried increasing their virtual memory settings in Windows? Another user with an ATI card said he set his drivers to version 4.12 and upped his VM to 1.5GB... I have mine set to 4GB... Needed it for another game or program or something... I don't let windows manage it I just pumped it high cause I had the room. So maybe try this, Just trying to help... :)
