I wasnt sure where to post this, but i'd like to request to become the mayor of Vo Mimbre.

As far as i can tell, Mayors are apointed by the Governors of the province the city is in, but according to the Cencus office, Vo Mimbre isnt in a Province yet.
so i didnt know where to post this.

I havent been hyperly active in the game so far as i dont quite understand the process that goes on.
i think i'm starting to get it now, and hoping that being able to concentrate on one particular city will give me some focus as a citizen.

if this post should have gone into a particular thread (thinking either Berry province or maybe Office of IA) please tell me so, cause i'm confused by who that city "belongs" to for now.

i'm also not 100% on what a mayor should do, but i think i get the general gist of it.

EDIT: having looked some more for where this should have gone, i realized that it proly should have gone where the "nominations" are in the main forum, not here in the government forum where the already elected/established offices are.

so if someone can move this there (or where ever it realy should go) please do so. or then again, we could assume that whoever has the power to hand out the mayorship will give it to me, and then i can just edit this post/thread to be the city's thread.

As of now, all cities are in the first Province, RoddyVR. Until Borders are approved that show a city outside the first Province, all fallunder Governor Plexus' control. A small post in the Berry Province thread asking to be Mayor would have been fine. If you do become Mayor, you can change this thread to your City thread (having my post deleted), or have this thread deleted and start a new City thread.

Hey, I wanted to be mayor!! :D I did name it afterall....

Anyway....

I don't see where this is addressed in the 3 books. It could be argued that all cities are under the Interior Ministry until a province if defined by Congress.

I've addressed this issue with donsig already zorven, and I know you are a strong donsig supporter.

If there wasn't a first Province, we would not have a first Province Governor. Just because we haven't restricted the first Province Governor with borders, doesn't mean there's no first Province. Both you and donsig are using an illogical determination in your "interpretation". Just because we had our ruleset making process held up with so many side issues and all the leap-frogging we were required to do to satisfy "some" people, doesn't mean that traditional standards aren't carried over from previous rulesets. This rule is obviously a logical one. We have our first Province. No Borders have been set up and approved for restricting that Province, therefore, all cities are in the first Province. Just as no cities are in a second Province as no borders have been drwn up to section off a second Province. Just as no cities are outside of the first Province as there are no borders defining the first Province. I can do this in every thread that you and donsig try to pass your illogical interpretation in. This is a traditionally accepted Standard. You can't go around dreaming up new "interpretations" about something because you want to create a new Judicial action and delay the logical goings on of the game play. ;) If the only way you two can be happy with this is if there is a rule in the Three Books, then create a Law and get it passed. It's simple.

I don't know why you believe this (as I have never stated as such) or why it is relevent to this issue.

CoL C.2.b specifically states that a province must be defined by the Congress. Congress has not defined any province, thus there should not have been a governor or province this term.

Both you and donsig are using an illogical determination in your "interpretation".

How is my above interpretation of CoL C.2.b "illogical"?

What does our rulemaking process have to do with this discussion? And carrying over traditions is fine as long as they fall within the limits of the 3 Books.

I don't see what donsig has to do with our current discussion in this thread. I also don't see how you can know my intentions or motivations and would appreciate it if you would keep your speculations about them to yourself.

I would appreciate it if the Mods can move this thread out into the Citizen's Sub Forum. :)
