Medal tournament? Named victory conditions?

I just completed and submitted my first GoTM yesterday, and in reading some of the final spoiler threads I'm seeing references to the medal tournament in relation to a pre-named victory condition (spaceship for GoTM 21).

I lookd on the GoTM page here, and couldn't find info. Could someone please point me to a link that would explain what the medal tournament is compared with just regular GoTM play for a score?

And does that pre-named victory condition have any effect on anything other than the medal tournament play?

Right above the link that say you should NEVER start a new thread about a GOTM inprogress. EDIT:It's even a sticky.

I'm not sure, but posting comments about DaveMcW game may be considered spoilers.

Oh crud. Thank you Control Freak! For the link, and the heads up. I didn't even think about that, but you're very right - even if it isn't a "spoiler", I think it would still be bad form to post anything about the outcome of a GoTM while it is still underway.
