Man, this game rocks, I was lucky to get the last copy at my local EB store. I was wondering if anybody knows a good forum of this game, preferably the one with the same calibre as CFC or apolyton ?

The game is already out? Cool! I have stw and stw:mi. This is goona be a great addition :) BTW I know a province can be partially christian and partially muslim. Can there also be a jewish community?

I should be getting this game on Saturday... I read the review awhile ago but I'm not sure about the religions in the game.

You'll be happy to know that there are Jewish communities in some of the provinces, esp. the one's in the ME.

There are 6 religions in MTW; Catholic, Orthodox, Muslim, Heretics, pagans, and Judaism.

MTW really rox! If you ever played Shogun Total War you will absolutely love this game!

One more day left to go :) I've already played the demo and I cannot wait to rule Europe :)

Yep its great. I had my first battle in a forest and the enemy ran away from me :)

I've certainly enjoyed crushing the Welsh!

I used attrition to defeat the Scots...turned up to battle, loosed a few rounds of arrows and then ran away to come back and fight another day. Slowly but surely they Scots were weakened so my mercenaries could finish their highlanders off!

I don't know why there aren't the good movies like they had in Shogun Total War...I particularly liked them.

One avenue for such movies could be the "blind date" weddings you get in this game as you marry your daughters off :)

A pity I couldn't have 3 of my daughters marry the King of France and he reciprocate with 3 of his :p

Smeg. Smeg Smeg Smeg Smeg Smeg.

The game crashes at various intervals in strategy mode - usually at the end of a turn. It happens with varying factions at various times. I've looked at some Total War forums, and it seems to be quite a common program. Activision Support even have a section dedicated to it. Unfortunately, their 'solutions' are merely bog-standard 'oh it's your video card' answers, i.e. change resolution to 800x600, don't have progs running in background (like, Duh), etc. So they don't actually know what they problem is, because if they did there's be one clear solution. As it stands, the game is literally unplayable. It hasn't happened to all users, so you could argue that it's a problem with my computer. I think it's more likely that it's a problem with the game, albeit one that only shows up on some computers. And I have a nasty feeling that Activision will not be able to solve my problem and that the game will remain unplayable until a patch comes out. Whenever that is :(

What I can't understand is how this managed to slip through the net. It's a fairly major problem, and it's happened to a lot of people. When a company releases game unplayable to many, it is clearly an example of unfinished code. And ppl accused Civ3 of being a beta ;)

Has anyone tried destroying the Papancy? Basically its the Popes empire, and it constantly rebels every few turns. Medieval is a great game and it does list the types of 3D cards that are compatable on the box.

You talking about my problem? My chipset, Kyro II, is listed as supported on the back of the box, but the tech support page said it wouldn't work right unless I made some changes to my graphics settings (which i did, and it still crashes). So my 3D card is compatible.

Well it was more a possible point. I know one other person that has MTW and it crashes for them as well.

Ha! Just glad it isn't me for once :p

I picked up MTW yesterday, and have had no problems with crashes.

I have had no problems with crashes to date.

It is a pity that they removed those cool movies that were present in STW. I guess everyone is going the Civ3 route and eliminating the movies. Oh well......:(

I can see the strategic turn-based part of the game is going to be far more daunting than Shogun, and suspect the interface is going to get clunky in a long campaign when there will be a lot of pieces to move around. I have to figure out a way to remember all the units to move.

Its not too much bigger (the map) but I can see games dragging out for a long time if I play with the 60% victtory condition as I will need to attacking alot of different empires.

Bah thats nothing if it was against Rebels, with heavy infantry and cavalry the computer nations are not that bad.

I finally won my first game yesterday (It took me nearly 3 weeks because of all the battles)
