This might spice up the industrial era and make use of some units you get gifted or upgrade to that you don’t like.

All units keep the stats of the first unit.

2 artillery = rail gun promotion 64 ranged combat and only moves on rail hexes
infantry or anti-tank or anti-aircraft + cavalry = + 1 movement
tank + anti-tank = bonus vs. tank
anti-tank + artillery = range 3
anti-aircraft + artillery = range 3
anti-tank + anti-aircraft = get both abilities together
carrier + destroyer = can see subs + 40 interception
battleship + destroyer = can see subs + 40 interception
fighter + bomber = range combat 45 + range 9

Yeah, and all units combined =

Jon Shafer wanted to implement Chuck Norris as a future era unit to CIV5. When Chuck Norris heard even he would take 1 damage from an archer he roundhouse kicked Jon to the StarDocks.

Example of tank + anti-tank. Tank is still Strength 50 but gets the anti-tank ability.

That would be interesting, allow two units to merge, make them less effective than they would be apart in total, but let them share their promotions. You could even allow them to split up again, effectively making it a kind of 2UPT after reaching a certain tech. Permanent merge works too :D

Making Chuck Norris would need to result in a Chuck Norris victory. Your civ doesn't win. Chuck Norris does. (Alternatively, America wins, even if they weren't in the game).

wow, custom units, what a great idea

this was done by firaxis in alpha centuri many years ago, i thought it was a great idea! apparently they did not
