Can somebody get me the the discovery odds for mines with different amounts of Earth mana so I can add it to The Wiki Also some help with proper
wiki format would help to, it's ignoring my lines (hitting enter).

Kael (Some parts cut) said:
Earth nodes now increase the chance of spawning resources. So before there was a 1 in 10,000 chance of a mine finding a resource each turn. (...) In the new system the limit is divided by the amount of earth nodes you have +1. So if you have 1 earth node its 1 in 5000, if you have 2 its 1 in 3,333, if you have 3 its 1 in 2500, etc.

;D

About the wiki format, I can't help you.

Mr Somewhat Obvious states:

On average if you have 3 Earth mana and 10 mines in your civ after 250 turns 1 of them will pop a resource.

This is more useful in longer speed games.

You flip heads on a coin. Whats the chance you will flip heads the next time?

I did say "On average".

the chance(beforehand) of flipping two heads in a row is 25%
if you just flipped a heads and you try to flip heads again, the chance is 50%
but nary is the computers "random seed" that consistent

Why, with two earth resources in the last game I spawned 7 or 8 resources over 400 turns.

Still, people don't really need statistics explained to them. 1/10 chance of something happening doesn't mean it will happen (only, or at least, or even) once in 10 rounds... but if it does, no one should be surprised.

If you really want two lines, hit enter twice. Another option in this case would have been to start each line with a '*'; that will create an unnumbered list element.

I changed this data into a table; see what you think.

some things aren't easily inuitive, and i've already studied them so i figured i'd tell people who never had the time... or never saw it before...

like, the odds that assuming you got a heads just a minute ago, the odds of that having happened 100%,
while the odds of that "happening" with a normal coin is 50%

Except that most coins (all American coin, iirc) are not evenly weighted. The heads side bumps out more and has slightly more mass, thus the chance of getting heads is closer to 48%

It is quite easy to count the probability of a certain number of new resources appearing for it follows the poisson distribution.

like buttered toast usually lands butter side down!(same for peanut butter, except in russia!)

Since coins don't calculate, the odds of each flip coming up heads is the same each time. Its like the lottery the chance of the same numbers coming up two weeks in a row is the same as the odds of it coming up in one week. I've flipped coins and got 10 heads or tails in a row.

There was a wonderful scientific paper, that worked the reason for this out, no really! It's to do with the butter having an effect on the aerodynamics of the toast. IIRC the height was pretty crucial too.

Individually, yes. Together, no.

Lol statistics, well consider this: You are on a gameshow and there are three doors before you, behind one of which is a large sum of money. You are instructed to choose which door you believe the money is behind, which you do. The host then opens one of the other two doors, demonstrating a lack of money behind it. He then gives you the option of swapping your door for the one remaining door. Should you? Why?
