I am working on creating a minimod for the MoO2Civ mod and suddenly I can't create a new game. I'm using Windows XP SP3 and BTS v3.19
The game worked fine up to a point. After that point I did two things.
-I used TextCrawler to search and replace tech and unit tags in all the XMLs so they matched the new unit names better. I made sure it only changed files I wanted it to, and it only changed files in the XML folder.
-I also reorganized some of the txt_key entries and deleted ones that were no longer used.
Currently the game loads to the main menu and the civilopedia seems to work fine but starting a game causes the game to freeze up during "initializing" It never gets to "init graphics." It will be non responsive for several minutes until windows decides to kill the program or I manually kill it.
How can I find out what is locking up the game? I can't see what change in the XML files would parse and load fine but cause the game to freeze when started.
Other mods work fine.
I tried restoring the xml files in the text folder but it still has the same effect.
I didn't try restoring the other xml files that were changed, I don't have a backup for them right now.
I looked through the Fix-It list in this forum and found nothing that helped.
I have attached the files windows wants to send as an error report if they help.
If you need more information please let me know.
