Hello, all. I've been playing Civ4/Warlords for awhile now, and have recently started looking into mods and modding. However, with four children, I obviously have little time to work on a mod myself, so I figured I would pitch an idea and see if anyone were up to it.

I'm a huge fan of the Robert Jordan series ("Wheel of Time". If you read it, you're probably smiling, and if not, you're probably rolling your eyes). I've looked around, but haven't found what I'm looking for: A mod that uses Jordan's world and civilizations. So I figured I'd toss it out, and hope someone with more time and experience than I bites.

I've been playing around with this idea for quite a while now too. All that trying to make a mod based on the Wheel of Time has taught me countless times how to avoid certain errors. As I'm still pretty new to modding, there's definitely some challenges making a mod for the Wheel of Time, with its many complexities.

I'm currently working on a smaller mod that so far is progressing along well. I'm using many of the same tokens/ideas that I would use in a Wheel of Time mod, so if I can get this smaller one up and running and functioning correctly, I'll be halfway to creating Robert Jordan's world for Civ 4.

The basic level of the game would be similar to BtS Charlemagne scenario. That is, in terms of tech tree and units. I like keeping it Medieval at the latest, so there's more diversification of melee and archery units in Charlemagne that would save me from rewriting. Civilizations and leaders would be straight out of the book, as would religions. The religions will be able to produce unique units (and unique promotions), such as Aes Sedai (with Green Ajah I), Myrdraal (with Shadow I) or Ogier Defender (with Forester I), etc.

There would be many religions which can either be set to appear in certain civs (Tar Valon will always found The One Power religion), or the "founder" civs will be removed (as in there would be no Tar Valon civ, so the One Power would have to be founded in any of the other nations).

This will definitely not be for a while yet, and hopefully a new version of Civ IV or a new expansion pack won't be released forcing me to start over (again -- not that I'm complaining, since each progressive update is just making my life easier, except the detail of having to start over).

Anyone have any ideas they'd like to throw out there?
