Atahualpa
Chieftain
I wonder if it's possible to mod the tactic overlays that you can draw in the globe view. I always liked this idea the first moment I heard it, but I've not used it that often.
I think they can do more though and it would be great if they were moddable.
First and simplest I thought about using stamps that you can print somewhere to mark a certain region. E.g. I quickly drew a stamp that represents "air superiority" and marks a zone that you plan to have air superiority over, or a zone that is critical to gain control, or an enemy air superiority zone. I leave the interpretation up to the generals.
Instead of drawing this by using the line feature, you'd just select the symbol and click on the map to draw it.
Some stamps or marks that I thought of:
air superiority (see attachment)
naval superiority
observation (something like an eye)
as well as small stamps for the different unit classes:
meele, archery, mounted, siege, gunpowder, armored, naval and air
Then it would be nice to be able to draw arrows straight away. That would be realized by clicking and dragging and an arrow would scale in size. Click&Drag could be used by all other stamps as well in that they also scale in size. Ok, you can always draw arrows with the line feature as well, so maybe first focus on the stamps.
Unfortunately, I've not tried myself at modding Civ4 yet (I did a small mod for Civ3, but I don't feel that this will help). Programming and XML is not a big deal though.
So before I want to dig into this, I want to ask the more experienced people here if that is possible at all? Also, what do you think of this idea?
