Hey there guys, I'm new to modding but I followed the excellent Kael's guide to modding to create a "British Empire" civilization under the rule of Sir Winston Churchill.

I followed everything by the guide (changing names however), except for traits, where I followed a forum post I found while googling trait xml's, I didn't add unique units yet but I wanted to test my new civ to see if it worked in game.

So I "built" it in mod buddy and have it saved in the civ5 mod folder, when I go in game to load mod's it pops up and loads, however when I go into set up game, it is not there.

I've gone into advanced setup and messed around with everything but nothing seems to work.

There were 0 errors in my project and Kael's civ worked from before even having a trait so I don't think it could be the fact I don't have UU's

I'll attach screenshots of all the areas I've mentioned, any ideas on where I've gone wrong?

No. A civ without (at least) two uniques (units, buildings or improvements) will cause the setup screen to fail with Lua errors.

If you're not seeing those errors, your mod probably isn't loading. Enable logging (see the tutorial in the Refernce sub-forum) and look in the database.log and lua.log files

Thank you for the quick response, I didn't realize you had to add unique units to test the mod, now I'm having the tricky problem of adding custom art to the musketman unit when kael's guide only shows how to use a barbarian art style for a unit, fun times!
