Sharpe's Civ
Chieftain
First of all I have to say that the changes made to Civ4 re:modding have been a great improvement on Civ3. Now there is no end to the possibilities!
But I also have to say that it is a great disappointment that there is no program to facilitate this. One where you just type in something (say, you need a unit of exp level 5 in order to build this building) and the program puts that into code. Instead, you have to go through the code yourself. That's something us laymen will have to get used to, I suppose. Code isn't really that scary, after all.
What attracts me is the prospect of twekaing victory conditions so that you have to, say, capture certain cities to win. This is would be perfect for a scenario such as 1914 Western Front or a general war senario. Play as Germany and you would have to capture French cities (especially Paris) and Russian cities (like Brest-Livotsk) in order to win. Brilliant for people (like me) who love to play historical games.
However, I have absolutely no idea of how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.
