Is Firaxis going to release their tools with which they made all the graphics and the programming? I would appreciate it very much, if they released it because I really don't like most of the graphics modders used, because they looked all different from the Firaxian version. So I propose that they release their tools, so that the graphics look the same as from the modders and a programming tool so that the program-modding can be useful for noobs (like me :mischief: ) and not to use that one from Pythons official site, of which I cant start anything intelligent.

firaxes is supposed to make civ 4's editor easy to change the game alot

I seriously doubt that Firaxis will be giving 3DS Max and Maya out to anyone as they cost thousands of dollars a copy. Nor will they give out MS Visual Studio for the C++.

I'm nearly 100% certain that they use the standard Python from the official site since that's the one everyone uses (use the PythonWin IDE).

They probably use 3D Studio Max and Adobe Photoshop (or something similar) along with graphics libraries to create the graphics - all of which they're merely licensing, and would get sued back to the stone age if they gave these away with the game.

Oh, alright, then they could tell us which softwares they use and how. I first thought they had programmed a special sofware to create it. :mischief:

Well, I'm pretty sure that they use 3DS Max and Maya for the 3D objects. I'm fairly certain that they still use Adobe Photoshop for 2D stuff (textures, UI, etc.). I'm nearly positive that they use MS Visual Studio for their C++ compiles. These are all fairly standard in the industry and the formats that we had to give them for our stuff in the past.
