I really like this mod and they way it simulates a post-apocalyptic world. Especially salvaging and fuel systems add a great flavor and modify the gameplay to good direction.
But I would like to try out few modifications to the fuel system. First of all i'd like to add a refinery building which automatically refuels all units that enter a city with refinery built in it. I made the refinery but i can't code Python I wasn't able to create a function that would do the trick for me.
This addition only breaks the fuel system if no other changes are made so i was also thinking about making the gas trucks buildable once again. Of course a refinery is needed to build the gas trucks. This way you wouldn't get spammed by gas trucks when not in war and hopefully the AI didn't waste all his gas trucks by moving it's tanks back and forth with no reason when in peace. I was also thinking about making the units run out of gas faster so their operational range would be quite limited unless you build gas trucks.
So the ultimate goal of these additions is to simulate more the operational range of the vehicles while still keeping the gas precious and limited because you have to build the gas trucks if you want to use your vehicles far away from refinery.
I realize this would change the fuel system to a totally different direction but i wanted to try it out. So is there anybody out there to help me with the python part?
Here are the files for the refinery. I haven't modded Civ before so there might be some mistakes but it worked fine for me.
I didn't attach the art files because they were already included in Fury Road.
