During our last turn chat, Emperor Tofu over in Kyoto demanded tribute from us lest he declare war on our peace-loving nation. Our president reluctantly, and probably quite wisely, chose not test his patience and paid this tribute.

Should such an act provoke a change in attitude towards the Empire of Japan?

Yes. I say move them from Foe to "Soon to be gifted with a fresh can of whoop-ass".

Yeah, whatever we need to do to get a Declaration of War from the F/A with very little effort.

They are now a Hated Enemy in my book.

The FA office should open immediate discussion to authorize a DoW when the time is right.

We should declare war on them within the next few turns. I don't know who they think they are, considering our military is superior to there's. I am glad to see our president has already begun moving troops into position. A delay here could be devastating.

One thing to keep in mind when you vote in the poll I am going to post in the near future, is that since they do not have horses, we will not suddenly be facing a horde of samuari when they get chivalry, since they will not have horsemen to upgrade. Again, we need to strike hard and fast before they have time to build any number of these fearsome units.
