Chieftain
I've been toying with the idea -it seems like thats all that I do when it comes to civ2 scenarios- of a scenario similar in style to "Sieze the Crown", by John Ellis. The concept is that the three monastic military orders: Knights Templar, Knights Hospitallers and Teutonic Knights (I'm not sure about the last one) have to prevent the fall of the Jerusalem and the conquest of the Crusader states by their surrounding Muslim neighbors. The orders can also expand their dominions and perhaps even establish a state of their own. While they will be powerful players their possessions will be Castles (small cities) that riddle the thin coastal strip of land belonging to the Christians. I'm also thinking about making the Assassins a playable civ, but thats still up in the air.
I'm thinking about dividing the Muslims into Egyptian and Syrian civs in order to depict the feud between Cairo and Damascus. Also, the christian states can use this conflict to their advantage.
For the time being I only have these units that I've created specifically for this scenario. Also, the map I'm working on is a Giga map displaying the Nile Delta, the coast of modern day Lebanon, Syria, northern Israel and South East Turkey. Its Easternmost reach ending at the Euphrates river.
Any suggestions would truly be appreciated.
