I'm a bit of a n00b, playing Marathon/Huge. Kublai Khan has scouted out a large part of the map--its not quite archipelago, but is ful of long thing vertical strips of land. In any case, _nowhere_ in his land mass are there horses.

So, now what? He's aggro/imperialistic, but both his UU and his UB are horse dependent. How would you proceed in general?

FWIW, capital city is food and anvil fine, low on comerce tiles. Second city is, and third city will be, similar.

What would I do?

Start a new game.

I don't have enough time to play Civ4 like I'd like to anyway, so if I can't use at least one of the Unique whatevers of my Civ, it just isn't quite as fun to me.

It's definitely winnable, though, as long as you have Copper or Iron nearby.

(BTW, I also only play Mongolia for the Keshik, soooo ... )

LOL. Yeah, well ... I play Hot Seat, running 3 civilizations with rules about how much they can help each other. And, I don't mind the French or Ethiopian starts, plus the map is pretty intriguing.

There is no copper, and Iron is unknown at the moment. I could settle near ivory and do war elephants, I guess ...
